Great Northern Industry Training, located in Hines Creek, Alberta

We are committed to providing a quality education to our students

Let's go to work! Thirteen months ago a number of construction companies in the Peace Region of Alberta got together and identified the need for skilled equipment operators and decided to train their own equipment operators.

Heavy Equipment Training Program(s) just don’t happen …they require a tremendous amount of safety training, equipment, and it’s expensive.

We’re a success story, and we’re expanding.

Great Northern Industry Training (GNIT) is meeting industries’ need for skilled operators. GNIT was developed in northwestern Alberta for Alberta, and now were expanding to serve a larger population that includes the four western provinces and territories. Little did we know when we designed the program for the northwest that we would experience such demand from further afield!

In view of this demand we’ve expanded our program. But first, why are we successful? We identified a number of key components that had nothing to do with level of education, entrance requirements, or the ability to read or write. This is about individuals having the ability to go to work, making a difference, and bringing hope and a future to themselves and their family.

GNIT is industry driven, riding a wave of successful trainees and providing results in the booming Peace Region of western Canada that has experienced tremendous demand for skilled operators.

Were expanding our program and providing an opportunity for a larger population to seize a training advantage, by-pass conventional training, and be gainfully employed within our booming economy.
